Gestaltet im Art Deco Stil schuf der Architekt Carl Feindt 1926-28 das Hammonia-Band. Die Hamburger Genossenschaft der Altonaer Kur- und Badeanstalten betrieb das Bad. In den 1950er Jahren nutzte die Krankenkasse, später verschiedene Ärzte das Gebäude.

Neben einem schönen Eingangsbereich und erhaltenen Lampen hat das Haus ein farbenfrohes Treppenhaus. Die Keramik stammt von Richard Kuöhl, der auch den berühmten „Bananensaal“ gestaltete.

Hammonia Baths, Hamburg-Uhlenhorst
Designed in the Art Deco style, architect Carl Feindt created the Hammonia Band in 1926-28. The Hamburg Genossenschaft der Altonaer Kur- und Badeanstalten operated the bath. In the 1950s, the health insurance company and later various doctors used the building.

In addition to a beautiful entrance area and preserved lamps, the building has a colorful staircase. The ceramics are by Richard Kuöhl, who also designed the famous „Banana Room“.

Hamburgs schöne Treppenhäuser: Brahms Kontor

Die Kontorhäuser der Hansestadt sind berühmt für Ihre Klinkerfassaden und die prachtvollen Treppenhäuser. Eins davon führt den Besucher im Brahms Kontor hinauf. Über alle Etagen lassen Fensterstreifen Licht auf die Treppe fallen. Auf den Etagen glänzt Mosaikboden und ein blau-silbernes Geländer windet sich aufwärts. Erbaut wurde der prächtige Bau 1921-1922 von Willhelm Vortmann und Ferdinand Schopp. (Geburtsdaten leider unbekannt). Die Erweiterung in 1929-1931 erfolgte auch durch Vortmann und Schopp. Eine aufwändige Restaurierung durch https://www.kpw-architekten.de von 2005-2008 verlieh dem Bau alten Glanz zurück. Auch die Fassade wurde aufwändig gestaltet. Figuren von Karl Opfermann und Ludwig Kunstmann schmücken den Bau.

Hamburg’s beautiful stairwells: Brahms Kontor
The office buildings of the Hanseatic city are famous for their clinker brick facades and magnificent staircases. One of these leads visitors up to the Brahms Kontor. Windows across all floors allow light to flood onto the staircase. Mosaic floors gleam on each floor, and a blue and silver banister winds its way upwards. This magnificent building was constructed in 1921-1922 by Willhelm Vortmann and Ferdinand Schopp. (Unfortunately, their dates of birth are unknown). The extension in 1929-1931 was also carried out by Vortmann and Schopp. Extensive restoration work by https://www.kpw-architekten.de from 2005-2008 restored the building to its former glory. In 1904 erbaut von Lundt / Kallmorgen, in den 1920er aufgestockt von Sckopp / Vortmann – das erste moderne Hochhhaus mit Stahlkonstruktion und Klinkerfassade in Hamburg. Die Eingangshalle ist in Art-deco gehalten mit farbigen Keramikplatten an der Wand und Granitboden. Die Türen der Fahrstühle sind goldfarben eloxiert. Ein prächtiger Empfang für die Besucher.

Brahms Kontor: Entrance hall Brahms-Platz
Built in 1904 by Lundt / Kallmorgen, extended in the 1920s by Sckopp / Vortmann – the first modern high-rise with steel construction and clinker facade in Hamburg. The entrance hall is kept in Art-deco with coloured ceramic slabs on the wall and granite floor. The elevator doors are gold anodized. A magnificent reception for the visitors.
